Let's see, we're Hector Qirko, guitar and vocals; Dirk Weddington, saxes; Jim Williams, bass; and Steve Brown, drums (click on names for individual bios). We formed the band in 1985, which means that we have now reached legal drinking age. We are, loosely speaking, a blues band, although because we tend to throw into the mix a lot of other styles of music, including even the occasional polka, maybe we play "World Blues," or "Pan-Americana," or something. But the blues -- electric, Chicago-style blues in particular -- are at the core of what we do.

We were voted Knoxville’s “Best of the Best- Favorite Local Music Group” for 2000, and also have been “Best Local Blues Band” about ten times. All this through Metro Pulse’s annual reader poll. This is a great honor, especially considering how much excellent music, of all kinds, is made in this town.
We occasionally play out of town, like in Asheville, maybe Chattanooga or Nashville. One of our favorite places to go is the Down Home in Johnson City, where they have kindly said of us:
“Undoubtedly, four of the finest musicians to grace our stage. Not just another blues band. Not just another rock band. Not just another jazz band. They play all these styles and more. But regardless of the direction they take, each and every musical path is truly exceptional. Words are not enough.”
(Actually, words like those are more than enough...)

We're on the radio every once in a while - you might try WNCW, out of Spindale North Carolina, or East Tennessee's WDVX and WETS.

We put out a record every four or five years or so; five so far.
